A GALA dinner in memory of the D'Oliveira cricketing dynasty will raise funds for the grass roots game.

A yearly dinner will once again raise funds to support grass roots cricket causes that were close to the hearts of two of Worcestershire’s most famous cricketing sons.

The D’Oliveira Foundation, which was set up to honour the memory of Worcestershire cricketers and father and son Basil and Damian D’Oliveira, is holding its 2018 Gala Dinner on Friday. September 14, in The Chestnut Marquee at Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

With 2018 being the 50th Anniversary of the infamous D'Oliveira Affair the night will be an emotional and compelling look back at the events that took place in August and September of 1968.

Guest speaker for the evening will be Peter Oborne author of Basil D'Oliveira Cricket and Controversy; in addition there will be recorded speeches from Lord Peter Hain and Mike Brearley OBE, an exhibition of memorabilia, live music from Acorn Antiques Ukelele Band, a disco and auction.

Tickets cost just £50 per person
