A BAKE OFF finalist will be on hand to show off his skills as a food and drink festival returns to Droitwich.

Steven Bailey-Carter, who made the final three of the hit Channel 4 baking show, will host live cookery demonstrations with a range of local chefs at the Droitwich Spa Food & Drink Festival on Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17.

The festival, in the town's Lido Park, will also feature more than 100 food and drink stalls, including Churchfields Ice Cream and Croome Cuisine Cheeses, as well music and family-friendly entertainment.

The festival, now in its sixth year, has a strong emphasis on local food and drink with almost 90 per cent of exhibitors coming from within a 30 miles of the town.

Entertainment in the bandstand features local singers, bands and choirs including Jamie Knight, Richard Leach’s Jazz Band, Droitwich Community Choir and Acorn Antiques Ukelele Band.

A children's play area will include a bouncy castle, a vegetable theatre with Madame Zucchini from Britain’s Got Talent, face painting and a Peddle Your Own Smoothie Bike.

Children can find out what local Romans use to eat in the History Discovery tent, learn to play tennis in the park’s brand new tennis courts with Droitwich Tennis Club.

The festival will be opened by Bake Off finalist Steven Bailey-Carter and Nigel Huddleston MP on the Saturday morning at 10am.
