WALKERS and runners across Worcestershire took part in Walk4Life, which raised £9,376.04 for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

On Wednesday, May 6, the annual event, which took place in Rock near Bewdley, was a fun-filled day with something for all the family.

Routes from a small treasure trail, to a 26-mile hike, means that no matter what a participants ability, everyone can get involved and raise some money for the lifesaving charity.

Michelle McCracken, Worcestershire fundraising manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “Every year, we have so many participants raising a fantastic amount of money, and this year was no different.

“Despite the heat, families still came out to enjoy a walk in the beautiful countryside in Rock, and raise some funds for the charity, which we couldn’t be more grateful for.”

People of all ages took part, despite the temperature reaching 24C during the day.

Ms McCracken said: “So many local business also get involved, sponsoring the event and providing support through the day. Each Midlands Air Ambulance Charity mission costs £2,500, so we’re so pleased that the day was such a success.”
