A MAN in his 60s was taken to hospital following a two-car crash near a university campus.

Police, firefighters and paramedics rushed to an accident involving a white Mercedes SLC 250d and a Ford galaxy at the junction of Hylton Road and Henwick Road near to the University of Worcester's St John's campus at 12.30 on Tuesday (May 22).

An ambulance and a paramedic officer took the man, suffering from shoulder pains, to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Phillip Dews from Gloucestershire & Worcestershire 4X4 Response was passing by and stopped to help direct traffic.

He said: "I couldn't tell you exactly what happened but there was a man in the Mercedes who seemed to have some injuries.

"We support the local community during adverse conditions and this is definitely adverse as far as I am concerned."
