ONE of the main routes into the city will be closed as Worcester welcomes some of the world's best cyclists next month.

The fourth stage of the OVO Energy Women’s Tour on Saturday, June 16 will finish in the city after starting in Evesham and it is the first time the tour is taking place in Worcestershire.

Hylton Road will be closed from 4.45am until 5.30pm and Henwick Road will be used as a diversion. The closure is in force in Hylton Road to accommodate the finish line, hospitality, podium, event village and spectator areas.

Buildings on Hylton Road will not be accessible by car throughout the day but pedestrian access will be possible.

A rolling road closure will be in place for around 30 minutes before the race passes and will open as soon as possible afterwards.

The 81-mile stage will set off from Evesham and go through Pershore before travelling to Droitwich and finally finishing in Worcester.

The race will enter the city from Nunnery Way and travel along Swinesherd Way before joining the A44.

The race will continue along London Road, Sidbury and across Worcester Bridge before travelling around Cripplegate Park and finishing in Hylton Road.
