NOMINATIONS are now open for the Worcestershire Architecture Awards.

After the success of the initial competition last year, the Worcestershire Society of Chartered Architects are excited to announce the call for entries to the 2018 awards.

The awards recognise inspiring new designs in the county and the work of Worcestershire architects.

A spokesman said: "Last year’s inaugural awards successfully engaged the community, promoting local architects with a public exhibition of entries at the Guildhall, Worcester, followed by a

presentation of awards. Entries were subsequently exhibited at the Sawyard Gallery in Bewdley earlier this year."

Entries opened on June 1 and will be accepted until 5pm on Friday June 29, 2018.

Full details of how to enter along with an archive of last year's entries can be found on the Worcestershire Society of Chartered Architects website, ribaworcestershire.co.uk/awards

A jury consisting of architects and non-architects will judge the entries.

In addition to the six category awards, The People’s Choice Award will allow Worcestershire residents to vote for their favourite from a shortlist of eligible entries decided on by the editor of the Worcester News.

Shortlisted entries will be displayed online and in the Worcester News.

Entries will be exhibited at the Guildhall, Worcester, from 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday August 25, during the final weekend of the Worcester Festival. Admission is free. Awards will be presented

at a short ceremony at 2pm on the day.
