BORIS Johnson posed for selfies with shocked revellers after making a surprise teatime visit to the city centre today.

The Foreign Secretary was stopped by around 25 pubgoers who wanted pictures with him after they spotted him walking through the city at around 4pm.

He was on his way from the Cornmarket to a meeting at the Elgar Restaurant, in Reindeer Court, where he spoke to around 70 Conservative party members, young activists and a few business owners.

MP for Worcester Robin Walker said: ""It was nice to get him into the city.

"He came in to the Cornmarket and he must have been stopped by about 25 people from various pubs for selfies."

Mr Walker said Mr Johnson was in the city to talk to the Conservative Association, adding: "It was something the party organised.

"He was in Gloucestershire earlier in the day.

"He came by in support of me really.

"It was a gathering at the Elgar Restaurant of about 70 people.

"He did a quick speech and a Q&A.

"He was talking about having just come back from Peru and representing the UK around the world. He was talking about why we need to keep a Conservative government and why it's been so important for the party to pull together during the past few weeks.

"He said he was glad to be back in Worcester. He last came just before the referendum to Sixways."

Mr Walker said Mr Johnson was asked about the North Korean talks and gave a detailed answer on 'what we know and what we don't know'.

He added: "The questions were all quite general about his life at the Foreign Office.

"I was also able to introduce him to Allah Ditta, deputy mayor, and our new Gorse Hill Councillor Mohammed Altaf and he was wishing them Eid Mubarak."
