A MAN has admitted multiple sexual offences against a child, including rape, attempted rapes and making indecent images.

Christopher Matthews, aged 30, formerly of Droitwich, admitted eight sexual offences involving children when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court via videolink from HMP Hewell today.

He admitted two counts of making indecent images of a child between February 2008 and and June 2016, 37 at category B and 94 at category C.

The defendant also admitted one count of causing child pornography between February 5, 2008 and February 8, 2008 which involved a child under 18 (aged 10 to 12 years).

He further admitted rape and two attempted rapes of a child under 13 between December 17, 2005 and April 3, 2008.

Matthews pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by penetration on a child aged under 13, also between December 17, 2005 and April 3, 2008.

The defence has instructed a psychological expert to provide a report before sentence takes place. The prosecution will prepare a sexual harm prevention order and restraining order.

Judge Nicolas Cartwright said he would adjourn the sentencing hearing until August 3.

Sex offender Matthews, who was remanded in custody until the next hearing, is now subject to the registration and notification provisions.
