THE sun shone down as Rock Gods descended on Donington Park for Download Festival 2018.

More than 100,000 fans came together to celebrate the highest calibre of rock stars – both classic and modern.

Guns N’ Roses brought their ‘Not In This Lifetime’ three hour show to the festival and delivered hit after hit.

Legs were aching but that did not stop crowds headbanging, dancing, singing and air-guitaring to classic and unforgettable hits, including Paradise City, Sweet Child O’ Mine, Welcome to the Jungle, November Rain, Sympathy for the Devil, Knockin' on Heaven's Door, It’s So Easy’, Night Train, You Could Be Mine and Civil War.

Guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan were absolutely out of this world – as it seemed unfathomable that they could play that fast and note perfect.

Axl Rose showed his star-quality by belting-out killer vocals but he also displayed a modest side as he invited audiences to praise his fellow group members.

DragonForce gave audiences what they needed with the catchy lyrics and fast pace guitar of Through the Fire and Flames and Cradle of Filth performed killer track Nymphetamine (Fix) in beautiful sunshine.

Taking us back to our teens, Bullet For My Valentine performed rock-smash hits Tears Don’t Fall, Scream Aim Fire as well as new tune Letting You Go.

Giving us something a little more eccentric was Marilyn Mason, who took to the stage to perform hits Beautiful People, Kill4Me and Sweet Dreams.

The Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne closed the festival on his first ever solo appearance at the festival as the only UK date on his ‘No More Tours’ farewell tour.

He gave an incredibly lively and youthful performance and the crowds were eating out of the palm of his hand, clapping away to every hit.

Suicide Solution, Mr. Crowley and War Pigs made the crowds go particularly wild.

Download has been awarded the Gold Level of Attitude Is Everything’s Charter of Best Practice, and is the second festival with a capacity of over 80,000 people to have achieved the title.
