A FESTIVAL designed especially for older people across the county is being held at a new venue this year.

The annual Active Age Festival, organised by Age UK, is back for a seventh year and this time the free event is being held at Perdiswell Leisure Centre in Bilford Road.

The free event is taking place from 11.30am to 3.30pm this Saturday, July 7.

The festival began in 2012 as part of the Community Games being run with the London Olympics to offer free taster sessions for activities that were safe, fun and easy to do for all ages and abilities.

There will be taster sessions again this year, including golf, Zumba, body balance, and walking football.

There are also host of information stands showcasing activity groups across the county, from holistic health to Nordic walking.

Refreshments will be available to buy from the Freedom Café.

Organisers say there is no need to book, simply turn up on the day and take part.
