THERE will be a Victorian theme for the next 'after hours' event at Worcester's museum.

Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum goes back to its Victorian roots for the next Museum after Hours event on Friday, July 13.

Visitors will be able to enjoy live music, food and drink, as well as art after usual opening hours.

A Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum spokeswoman said: "Friday July 13 is no unlucky evening; the theme of the event is the Victorian weird and wonderful, with the wonderful Miss Winspear holding court in the Victorian Chemist Shop for the evening, Victorian-themed entertainment and a tantalising Victorian Gin cocktail.

"Worcestershire arts company Clik Clik will be presenting an immersive experience with ‘Play it again Dan’, fresh from the gin alleys and music halls, encouraging audience interaction with a playful Victorian sing-a-long.

"Worcester residents will remember Clik Clik as regular entertainers at the Christmas fayre."

The spokeswoman added: "The Balcony Café will be open for food (last orders 7.30pm) and drinks can be purchased from the bar.

"Visitors can also enjoy the fantastic Ice Age exhibition celebrating half a million years of Worcestershire’s history, where they can meet Fluffy the Woolly Mammoth, come face-to-face with a Neanderthal and crawl inside the Ice Age shelter.

"No booking is required for these lovely, chilled evenings – just drop in between 5.30pm and 8pm and enjoy the Museum after Hours – the perfect way to end the week."
