A NEW dessert parlour has opened in Worcester and is set to create 15 jobs.

Delightful Desserts is home to more than 40 different flavours of ice-cream.

The cafe has seating for about 40 people and also offers takeaways.

Home deliveries are set to start in a few months.

All food, which includes waffles, crepes, cookie doughs, coffees and milkshakes, is freshly made on site at the parlour in College Street.

Owner of the city branch Sanita Madhas said: “We are delighted to be serving the people of Worcester.

"If we haven’t got your favourite flavour of gelato then it doesn’t exist.”

A spokesman from Delightful Desserts's head office added: “Delightful Desserts is already a well known brand within the Midlands. It is a warm cosy place to come and catch up with friends over an indulgent treat.

“Delightful Desserts is excited to add this store to the portfolio and truly believes it will be a great success.”

The parlour is fully licensed and serves a large range of cocktails, beer, cider and alcoholic drenched desserts, including the brand's famous chocolate brownie Baileys sundae and candyfloss Martini, served with real candyfloss.

For those looking for a healthy alternative the parlour also sells fruit platters.

The cafe will also host afternoon teas, baby showers, hen parties and kids birthdays.

The dessert chain already has 15 outlets in the country, with many of these located in the Midlands.

Delightful Desserts opened its doors on Friday, July 13.

Recruitment for part-time and full-time positions is still underway.
