A PENSIONER has thanked the Worcester News for helping to unblock his driveway.

Ted Pratt, aged 72, of Brookside Road in Dines Green, who has a garage plot behind his house which he uses to park a small lorry, was fed up after developers Jessup Brothers blocked his driveway access in for a second time.

Previously, he appeared in the Worcester News in October last year after developers had fenced up his driveway, blocking access to his lorry after they had began work building 38 homes in nearby Ambrose Close.

Mr Pratt said developers Jessup Brothers and the land owner Kevin O’Reilly apologised to him and that, following the article, they came to an agreement.

But to his dismay he discovered his driveway was blocked again on Friday, July 13 - but this time with orange barriers covering a large hole, presumably looking at drainage work.

But following a call from the Worcester News to Jessup Brothers head office the issue was resolved almost immediately.

He also thanked the developers general manager Peter Butler for helping to resolve the issue quickly.

Mr Pratt said: “I would like to thank Peter Butler for dealing with it.

“That was amazing how quick that it was sorted.

“I am not a nasty man – I only do what I have to do.

“They promised me they would contact me and give me warning in the future. I would also like to thank the Evening News for getting involved with the issue and rectifying it more quickly than I could have myself.”
