UPDATE: Firefighters say they have removed the roof of a car to free a person 'medically trapped' inside.

The casualty was taken to hospital by West Midlands Ambulance Service.

All lanes are now clear and delays have cleared.

Original story

THREE lanes are closed and traffic is queueing on the M5 Southbound following a crash between a car and a lorry in Droitwich.

Emergency services, including a fire engine and an ambulance, are at the scene between M5 J4A/M42 Redditch and J5 A38 (Droitwich/Wychbold).

Travel time is 20 minutes. Lanes one, two and three (Of four) are closed. The car is situated at the back of the lorry, across lanes one and two.

This is separate from the earlier break down on the opposite side of the motorway.

Tweeting from @HighwaysWMIDS, a Highways England spokesman said: "Lanes now closed on #M5 southbound between J4A and J5 due to a collision involving a car and a HGV. Delays building on approach."

Later, they added: "Three lanes now closed on #M5 southbound between J4A and J5 to allow #emergencyservices to work at the scene. #Fire&Rescue on scene with @CMPG traffic passing in one lane."

More to follow.
