IT will be yesterday once more when an acclaimed tribute act comes to the Huntingdon Hall in Worcester, this month.

Full House Productions will bring their smash-hit show, Voice of the Heart – Karen Carpenter, to the venue, to please all local easy-listening fans.

A spokesman said: “Celebrating some of the greatest tracks from legendary duo The Carpenters, the show features the stunning voice of Carole Gordon, who recreates the velvet tones of Karen Carpenter with uncanny ease.

“With a wealth of experience and a voice of pure gold, Carole, along with the terrific Blue Jeans Band and Singers, will lead Carpenters fans everywhere on a magical journey through their timeless back catalogue.”

The spokesman added: “As well as classic hits such as Close To You, Goodbye To Love, Yesterday Once More and Only Yesterday, the show features some fantastic medleys, drawing from The Carpenters’ many album tracks and including songs linked to The Beatles, such as Please Mr Postman, Ticket To Ride and Help, as well as a superb Bacharach and David medley featuring renditions of Do You Know The Way To San Jose and Always Something There To Remind Me, to name but two of their legendary hits.

“A Carpenters country medley featuring Top Of The World, Sweet Sweet Smile and Jambalaya will also provide an upbeat contrast to the sad and perhaps most popular songs from her last and most poignant album, Voice Of The Heart.”

Carole has been making music for many years, and achieved great success with her late partner Bob Newman, the joint creator of the show.

The spokesman added Carole and Bob were also the creative team behind the popular hit musical Forever In Blue Jeans, which continues to tour extensively throughout the UK and abroad.”

This event is part of the Worcester Festival, running from August 11 to August 27.

The concert takes place on Friday, August 17, from 7.30pm. For tickets, call 01905 611427 or go to worcesterfestival.co.uk
