ROAD chiefs have urged drivers to be cautious on the narrowed lanes at the city's motorway junction.
Workers have cut the width of the lanes on the M5 slip roads at junction six and enforced a temporary speed limit.
Highways England is adding an extra lane at the junction's roundabout and widening the connecting roads and slip roads.
Adie Wood, traffic management supervisor, said: "The lanes will be a bit narrower so they [drivers] need to be a bit careful.
"We are widening every single lane approach the roundabout. The aim is to reduce congestion."
A 50-miles-per-hour speed limit has been introduced on the slip roads, dropping to 30-miles-per-hour half-way up the roads.
The lanes were narrowed at the end of April and are due to be reopened in spring 2019.
