EMERGENCY services were called to a Worcester bridge, after receiving reports about the concern for welfare of a man.
Police and paramedics rushed to Sabrina Bridge, near Hylton Road, at about 1pm on Tuesday, August 7.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.
A spokesman for the service said: "We were called by the police to a patient who had taken an overdose."
The man, who is in his 30s, was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Charles Hastings Way.
A police van parked in the Worcester News car park and another vehicle was left by the Pitchcroft side of Sabrina Bridge.
West Mercia Police spokesman said: "We were called today (Tuesday, August 7) at around 12.50pm to welfare concerns for a man on Hylton Road.
"The man was taken to hospital via ambulance."
