ONE of the country’s top folk musicians is currently performing songs that span her last six studio albums.

And the good news is, she has a date at The Bromsgrove Folk Club, in Meadow Road, this month

A spokesman said: “If you’ve not seen Ange Hardy performing live, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

“She’s delighted audiences around the country from Cambridge Folk Festival to the Sage Gateshead and now she’s heading this way, on tour.”

The spokesman added: “Over the past five years Ange Hardy has built a phenomenal reputation as one of the brightest starts on the vibrant acoustic music scene.”

Ange Hardy’s albums and shows have regularly received five-star reviews in mainstream publications and her last three have hit Number 1 in the Amazon music charts, with The Telegraph describing her as ‘one of the country’s top folk musicians’ and legendary radio broadcaster Mike Harding referring to her as ‘one of the most interesting, powerful and talented singers and songwriters to come out of recent years’.

The Sunday Express called her last album ‘a songwriting peak’ that was ‘entertaining and highly imaginative’.

Ange’s latest studio album Bring Back Home was released in November 2017. It features 14 songs and a band which includes the unmistakable fiddle playing of the legendary Peter Knight (Steeleye Span and Gigspanner).

The spokesman said: “The album’s closing song ‘What It Is’ demonstrates the diversity of Ange’s musical styling and the blurred lines between acoustic, folk, singer-songwriter and pop, delivering a genre-defying message of hope that cuts to the thematic heart of Bring Back Home.

“Let it be what it is for the grieving is more than the time that you have, and coming is more for the leaving... it is more to have love than to have.”

The performance takes place on Thursday, September 27. Further details at bromsgrovefolkclub.co.uk/
