Equipment has now been sold off after a gym business went bust - but members left out of pocket will not see a penny of the cash.
Equipment and stock at the Life of Leisure in Bromyard Road, St John's, Worcester, have been sold following the liquidation of the company.
The sale of the assets leaves the business with £23,386 out of which must come £5,569 in legal fees.
Cresswall Associates Limited were appointed by the High Court of Manchester to dispose of the gym's assets.
All known gym members, of which there are more than 900 on the company books, have been contacted about the situation following a Cresswall report, dated Friday, September 7.
The Redditch branch of the company will stay open under new management.
The Worcester branch closed due to rain damage during a downpour on Tuesday, June 19.
Hundreds of members were left in the lurch when the company did not explain the situation and the phoneline was out of service.
Members will not get their money back from the gym and will have to claim it back on insurance through their credit card companies.
Gordon Craig, the administrator for Cresswall, said in his report: "The director realised that the company was beginning to experience problems in May when large losses were identified following a downturn in turnover against forecasts. The director reviewed the company's overheads but could not identify any savings which could be made that would not directly impact on membership levels."
One of the members Matthew Jeffreys, aged 25, will not be able to claim back his money on credit card insurance because he paid in cash.
He said: "I have got nothing. I paid in cash but I haven't heard anything and I don't think I will get anything back. I have just written it off at this stage. It's a bit pathetic."
Glyn Page, aged 25, one of the fitness instructors at the gym, got almost a full monthly pay cheque of £1,000 out of the liquidation pay out.
He said: "I was happy with it. I got most of my wage which I didn't expect."
He is now teaching aerobics at different gyms around the country.
