CONCERNED residents in the Malvern Hills are being urged to attend a meeting on Thursday looking at the plans to close the county's ambulance control centre.
People will be given the chance to have their say on the proposals to close Bransford Emergency Operations Centre, as well as listen to a presentation from West Midlands Ambulance Service trust board.
The meeting is being hosted by Malvern Hills District Council's overview and scrutiny committee at 6pm in the Priory Lodge Hall at the council's headquarters in Malvern.
Committee chairman Coun Tom Wells said: "This may be the last chance people have to see the proposals and to put forward their comments. There will be representatives of the trust board present, staff from the call centre and of course committee members.
"Time will be set aside at the start of the meeting for members of the public to raise questions or make comments and I would encourage everyone to come along. The attendance was not great at the meeting at County Hall recently, so I would urge people to come and find out more about what these proposals really mean, and the potential consequences of any closure."
West Midlands Ambulance Service wants to close the Bransford call centre, along with one at Shrewsbury, and create two regional centres at Brierley Hill and Stafford. However, the plans have caused outrage among Worcestershire residents and almost 2,000 people have signed a petition started by your Worcester News to "Keep it Local".
