PLANS to build a £120 million university campus in the heart of Worcester have been given the green light.
The University of Worcester will have a second campus when it transforms the former Royal Infirmary hospital off Castle Street into a state-of-the-art facility.
The proposals were approved at tonight's Worcester City Council planning committee meeting.
The site, which will been developed around a central University Square, will boast three accommodation blocks for students, with 370 bedrooms an underground conference and performing arts facility.
It will be in addition to the existing campus in St John's.
