Young driver killed in collision with tractor

A YOUNG woman has been killed after her car was involved in a head-on collision with a tractor.

The victim, believed to be 22-years-old, was driving a Ford Focus on the A456 in Burford, just outside Tenbury Wells, when the collision occurred at about 7.50pm last night.

Two fire engines from Tenbury and two from Droitwich, with specialist lifting equipment, attended to cut the woman from the vehicle, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed until about midnight.
