THE brother of a man reported missing from Worcester says he has died.

Damien Davis had appealed for help to find his missing brother Kieran Davis, but told supporters Kieran had died today (February 4).

In an emotional Facebook post, Mr Davis said: “It is with great sadness that my brother Kieran Davis has passed away today.

“Further updates will come in due course, but please respect our family’s privacy at this time.

“Thanks to everyone for all your love and support x”

Yesterday Mr Davis had appealed for help to find his brother, a poet from Worcester, who he said had gone missing yesterday morning.

Police confirmed a body had been found at a hotel in Malvern, though they did not say which hotel it was.

They also said they were not treating the death as suspicious.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: “Following a call for concerns for safety yesterday at 6.22pm, sadly a man’s body has been found at 9.26am today at a hotel in Malvern, this is not thought to be suspicious.”

On the Worcester News Facebook page, readers and friends paid their respects and showed their support for the family.

Sandra Clifton wrote: "Such sad news - my heart goes to all his family and friends."

Julie Normoyle wrote: "Sorry to hear this sad news,thoughts are with his family.R.I.P."

Natalie Hilton-Doyle wrote: "This is such a sad outcome thoughts are with all the family x"

Sam Oakley-Johnson paid tribute to Kieran, saying he had given his son his first job and writing: "This is so sad - Kieran gave my son Dean his first job, not on academic qualifications but because he had made an effort to wear a shirt and tie to his interview.

"Dean got on so well with Kieran and will be sadly missed, heart goes out to his family, such a sad loss xx"

Chris Pryor said he remembered knowing Kieran as a child.

He wrote: "My deepest condolences Damien - I'll always remember the trouble we got up to as kids, so very sad to hear."

Helen Hollingdale wrote: "I’m so sorry to hear this Damien, I have some fond memories of Kieran back in our school days. He will be missed."

Yvonne Harford Clarke wrote: "So sorry to hear this Damien.

"Deepest sympathies to all the family on Keiran's passing, God bless xxxx"

Kieran was reported missing on Monday morning having not arrived at work.

Family and friends immediately began appealing for help after he failed to pick his children up from school, saying he had suffered from depression.

Police confirmed a body had been found on Tuesday morning before Damien Davis announced Kieran's death on social media.
