GEESE held up traffic on a busy road on Tuesday evening.

The geese were pictured in the middle of the A38, between the Chateau Impney and the turning for Droitwich town centre, with traffic brought to a standstill in both directions at around 6.20pm.

Many funny comments were made by residents after the picture was posted to the Spotted Droitwich Facebook page, including one that they were holding their own protest.

Many also speculated that the three had escaped from the Chateau grounds, and there was a debate on whether they were geese or swans - with the common consensus they were geese as they typically have straighter necks and are shorter in size to a swan.

Amanda Harris said: "They belong to Chateau, they've got fed up with the lack of visitors so gone for a wander."
