A BIRTHDAY prank went spectacularly wrong when friends accidentally stuck unflattering photographs and messages on a stranger's car.

Leanne Roberts and Kelly Hitchens plastered large stickers over what they thought was their friend Charlotte Orgee's Vauxhall Zafira on Saturday.

They even went a step further and added a note saying not to remove the stickers for a week because it would damage the car, which was in the car park opposite Malvern Splash.

But the pair were left red-faced and worried they would face police prosecution after Miss Orgee arrived home in Malvern Link with no stickers on her car.

Miss Roberts, from Dines Green, Worcester, said: "We decided to embarrass Charlotte by putting all the pictures she hates on her car while she was swimming with her son at Malvern Splash.

Worcester News:

"She is dreading turning 30 next year so we also put stickers on saying 'Happy 30th birthday' and left a note telling her the stickers couldn't be taken off for a week or they would damage the car."

The pair also decorated the outside of Miss Orgee's home but were confused when her car came into view without any decorations.

Miss Roberts said: "We just looked at each other. We asked her where the stickers were and she had no idea what we were talking about."

It turned out Miss Orgee had no change for the car park and decided to park down the road instead.

The friends rushed back to Malvern Splash but unfortunately the car had disappeared and there was no sign of the stickers in the bin.

"We were in hysterics laughing trying to work out what we would say to the other driver.

"We were just having a laugh and it backfired.

"It could only happen to us."

Miss Orgee was at the swimming pool for her son Junior's eighth birthday.

She has been friends with Miss Roberts since they met at Christopher Whitehead High School.

The 27-year-old, who turns 28 on Saturday, said: "Their faces just dropped when I got home.

"I was a bit scared but I couldn't stop laughing.

"I kept thinking what if the person called the police and my friends were done for criminal damage.

"They did my living room window too so I am just glad they didn't get the wrong house.

"We have been pranking each other on our birthdays for a while now.

"It started with silly string and glitter and has been getting worse but I think now we will have to call it quits."

The stranger has been found after he posted on Spotted:Malvern asking if anyone knew who Charlotte was.

The trio have tried to get in touch with him but have not heard back yet.

Miss Orgee said: "Luckily, it seems like he has a good sense of humour.

"I think it's brilliant but it kind of backfired on Kelly and Leanne and I've had the last laugh."
