An exhibition charting the history of railways in Worcestershire is to take place in Worcester’s Crowngate shopping centre in April.
Worcester Locomotive Society will be hosting the free event at the centre’s History & Heritage POD.
Historic photographs featuring Worcester’s two railways stations and the people who’ve worked at them will be on display around the POD.
There will also be an illustrated talk on local railways at 3pm by the society’s Chris Wilkinson.
He will show a trip from Worcester to Henwick, Rushwick, Malvern, Colwall, Ledbury then a return trip from Bromyard with lots of images showing locations around Worcester in the railway’s heyday.
Also attending will be the WLS society stall, Worcester & District Model Engineers, the Cotswold Line Promotion Group, Malvern Wells artist Glynis Dray and the Friends of Malvern’s Railway.
A display of models by Phil Bullock will include Worcester’s motive power depot, the Cathedrals Express train and Castle class locomotives used for the high speed run from Paddington to Plymouth in 1964.
The event will take place on Saturday April 9 from 10am until 4pm.
