WORCESTERSHIRE has beautiful scenery, old-fashioned buildings and a long and illustrious history. 

But one thing that often gets mixed up is just how to pronounce the name of the county.

First up, we have @mrsbritnicole who shares the struggle of ordering a steak in a restaurant but not being able to pronounce Worcestershire Sauce. There was an array of different attempts before the diner settled for the salad, but the highlights were wusster, wushter, wushter-sher, wuss-shire.

 

Worste-RRRRRR-Shee-RRR - @aberhaam

A popular mother and son duo on social media also tried their luck in pronouncing Worcestershire.

@aberhaam is known for coming up with creative content with his mother to entertain his 1.1M TikTok fans. 

Worcestershire was up next in his popular series called 'Day seven of trying to get my Arab Mom to pronounce a word correctly.'

The 'Momma' tried her best to pronounce the tricky word, her attempts included: 'Worsey-Teerie-Sheer' and 'Worste-RRRRRR-Shee-RRR. 

On the verge of giving up, the final attempt was 'Where is Sheeee'  

Aberhaam revealed the pronunciation right at the end of the video and the pair burst into laughter. 

Wash-your-sister-sauce - @watchkittyshrink


An American woman almost created a social media frenzy when she posted a video of her reviewing Worcestershire Sauce. @watchkittyshrink was excited to try the signature crisp but stumbled at the first hurdle when she struggled with the pronunciation. 

The innocent food review penned the term 'Wash-your-sister-sauce' as an iconic synonym for Worcestershire.

 

Worssht-ter-sher - @camrudwaffle

Frequently used sound slating how difficult it is to pronounce Worcestershire has been remixed by multiple TikTok users. @camrudwaffle filmed his take on the popular sound in his bathroom. 

The video says: "Three of the hardest words to say in the English language are 'I love you.' The fourth hardest is Worssht-ter-sher....Worcestershire."
