A MYSTERIOUS crocheter has once again created some fun postbox toppers for people to enjoy.
The new toppers in Northwick are Easter themed and replace the World Book Day toppers.
The person who created the toppers said: "I think it's a nice thing, it makes people smile.
"I like being anonymous because then no one knows when the next one will come out and there's a bit of fun with that.
"I've got children and it's good for them to learn that you can do something nice without being rewarded and having everybody know it's you.
"The reward is the enjoyment that people get out of it.
"It's a nice community thing, people's comments have been so kind and generous on Facebook about how much they enjoy it and it brightens their walk.
"If you can put a smile on someone else's face and put a bit of brightness back out there, especially after everything we've been through over the last however many months, then that's a positive thing.
"That's what lockdown has taught a lot of us.
"We have a fantastic community around us and anything you can do to enrich it, we should all try and do our little bit so this is me doing my bit."
The mysterious do-gooder started putting up postbox toppers around Halloween 2021 and has been putting out more creations ever since.
They added: "I started putting them out in Halloween last year, I put a ghost one outside of Northwick Manor Primary School.
"They'd had a ropey time, the school had been open and shut, open and shut and there were lots of covid cases and I just thought - what can I do that will make them smile?
"It's a way out of school a lot of children go, so I thought I would put one out there and see how it goes down."
The anonymous crocheter decided to put up another topper for Remembrance Sunday as a way to bring the day to the attention of more children in a way that would engage them and help them to understand.
