A 20-year-old who is on the sex offenders' register has been jailed after moving without notifying police.
Ian Macdonald, who was made to sign the list in 2006 after being convicted of indecent exposure, will serve seven days in prison because he failed to tell anyone that he was no longer living at St Paul's Hostel in Worcester.
At Worcester Magistrates Court on Monday, Douglas Marshall, prosecuting, said homeless Macdonald - currently serving another prison sentence - left the hostel following an "incident".
"In interview, he states he was aware of the requirement to notify police but since leaving St Paul's had been, in his own words, all over the place," said Mr Marshall.
"He was worried, if he did not have an address, that he would be returned to prison."
Barry Newton, defending, said Macdonald - who had written a letter which was handed in to the bench - has family in Worcestershire and Bristol but is separated from them.
"It was only after he moved and relocated to Worcester that he ran into the problems we're now dealing with."
Macdonald admitted the offence and was sentenced to seven days in custody, to run consecutively with the existing jail term.
