THE creators of Wallace and Gromit are giving a Worcestershire fun run a boost.
Aardman Animations, makers of The Wrong Trousers and Curse of the Were-Rabbit, is supporting the 2008 Acorns Children's Hospice Triple Run by donating original artwork from the movie Chicken Run and producing special signage for the event.
The signs will adorn the 1km (0.6-mile) wheelchair-friendly route of the same name.
Mary Lowance, former head of operations at Aardman Features, said: "Aardman is absolutely delighted to support the Chicken Run at the Acorns Triple Run.
"We are very proud that our film has inspired such an event that allows everyone to achieve their personal best."
The Triple Run will see thousands descend upon Malvern's Three Counties Showground on Sunday, June 22, to take part in sporting events.
There will be three races - the Malvern Half Marathon for serious runners, the less demanding 5km Spring Fun Run, and the Chicken Run.
The latter will see participants use ramps and chicanes to whizz through halls decorated to look like Tweedy's Farm from the Aardman film.
The aim of all the races is for disabled and able-bodied children and adults to come together for a worthy cause.
Last year, Aardman donated an original poster from the Chicken Run film signed by Aardman creator Nick Park. The poster now hangs proudly in the adolescent ward of Acorns Children's Hospice in Bath Road, Worcester.
This year, Aardman has donated an original film storyboard drawing signed by Park and co-creators Peter Lord and David Sproxton. Both pieces of artwork will be on show at the Triple Run.
Mrs Lawrence said: "Chicken Run was an enjoyable film to make. Everyone involved hopes this year's Chicken Run race will be lots of fun for all. We send our very best wishes and hope that everyone has a great day."
