Roger Berry, Labour, who has been a councillor for 26 years, retained his seat in Gorse Hill.
He said: "It's great to be back for a further four years and it's nice to have the confidence of the electorate in a ward that desperately needs more resources.
"There's been a clear rejection of the BNP and their abhorrent policies and they now trail way behind in third place."
