What on earth have they done, we must wait with interest. He was however the best out of a bunch of three clowns, Red Ken was long past his sell by date and putting Paddick up for such an illustrious position was an insult to the London electorate - reflected in his pathetic share of the vote.
Boris could either boost the Tory chances at the next election or put the kybosh on them well and truly.

At last - a breath of fresh air in the political circus. Boris can't make any more of a mess than any of the others have - at least he'll make interesting decisions. His involvement has certainly already had an impact - the large voting turnout.

Logic, my faith in the London electorate has been restored. Red Ken made a point of "sucking up" to all the immigrants and minority/ethnic groups in London, the whites hardly had a look in, donning ethnic gear, traipsing around with black MPs and Muslim Imams, visiting Mosques and Temples etc etc; and indicating that he was the great white hope that wouldn't allow them to be oppressed in this new alien world, that the city (small c) of London belonged to him and he would see them alright. It did him a fat lot of good, the Eton boy, with the toffee nosed accent and the hooray Henry demeanour didn't put them off which says much for our Boris. Red Ken, the creep, and New Labour caught a bad cold and I just wonder if the cheeky chappie can continue to keep sensible for the rest of his term. I had my doubts when I saw/heard his speech. I thought he was coming close to losing it with the flailing arms, wild eyes and flowing hair - and some of the comments. I just wonder. If he can pull it off, good luck to him, he can't possibly be any worse than the best New Labour can put up.

There is no doubt that Boris is a colourful, amiable and likeable character. (well I like him anyway). I think that this gives him a head start in his role as Mayor, let's face it, who actually liked slimy Ken. This may well be to Boris' advantage when trying to engage Londoners in sorting the problems that need to be tackled.

Ken's downfall was his arrogance. He did consult with the people sometimes, but when they didn't agree, he'd just carry on regardless. Mainly he saw London as his to do with as he wished, even when that conflicted with what Londoners wanted.

TFL lost £1.9 billion last year and his beloved CC has been a disaster, all it has served to do is put vast amounts of money into the operators business.(Capita). City Hall and TFL were just full of Ken's cronies. Ken lost London all on his own, he didn't need any help from Gordon & Co.

I suppose we will all have to wait and see, but I don't think he is as daft as he looks and I certainly don't think he will be Cameron's poodle either. Boris seems too much of a free spirit for that.

Boris said in a speach yesterday
"I am going to be a Mayor for all London and work to unite communities. One of the wonderful things we have got in London is fantastic diversity - we have got the whole world in a city."
I would think that one of the main reasons that peaple voted for him was to stop that unnatural experiment in social engineering and return the British capital to the British.
But there again 55 milion or so peaple outside of london have no where near the same "pull" as the 3 million immigrants living in, and ruining, our once great city of London.
If you have been into London in the last 5 years you will know exactly what I mean.

I do merlin, I really, really do. I go there regularly. Many years ago, (in the 1950s) I worked in London. One could feel ten foot tall in any part of it, from the East End backstreets to Park Lane and Mayfair.
Now, I could cry at what these New Labour idiots have done to it and still they allow immigration and still they pour in.
Boris is just a pawn in the hands of the Diane Abbotts and similar. The minute he upsets them - he has lost the immigrant vote. That's the obscenity of it all, these newcomers in London have us by the proverbials.

Yes Alan,its also on record that he favours an amnesty for all illegal imigrants,or as i like to call them criminals, for that is what they are.What he and the rest of the hand wringing liberal elite fail to explain is who is going to pay for these "new britons" when they realise that they dont actually have to work,and can live off our backs for the rest of there lives.As indeed the eastern europeans are discovering now to our cost.Prehaps Mr luff and mr foster can explain that one, as they favour them so much!All I can say is thank god Richard Barnbrook got elected to the LA, at least now the country will now be presented with all the facts,when these political bigots try and enforce there will upon the capital.
If you want to destroy the body then you take off the head,London is our capital,our head.Figures recently released indicate that 1/3 of the peaple living in london are foriegn born,add to that another 20% who could be classed as second and third generation,then its starting to look like the once great city of London is no longer a British city let alone a capital city.Prehaps we should get a new one?

Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 600 employees and has the following employee statistics:

29 have been accused of spouse abuse

7 have been arrested for fraud

9 have been accused of writing bad cheques

17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses

3 have done time for assault

71 cannot get a credit card

14 have been arrested on drug-related charges

8 have been arrested for shop-lifting

21 are currently defendants in lawsuits

84 have been arrested for drink driving in the last year

Which organisation is this?

It's the 635 members of the House of Commons, the same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us inline.
And guess what they have just awarded themselves a 25% payrise!! you couldnt make it up!
