FATHERS in Worcestershire are being invited today to take advantage of support on offer in the county, as part of International Day of Families.
The theme for this year's celebration day is Fathers and Families: Responsibilities and Changes.
Worcestershire County Council's Family Information Service - FIS - will be marking the the event today by inviting fathers to take advantage of the support it offers all-year round.
The FIS offer free and impartial information to families with children aged zero to 19 on a variety of subjects ranging from choosing childcare, free nursery education places and activities the whole family can enjoy together.
Fathers-to-be can also contact the FIS for advice on financial assistance for working parents, paternity leave and pay, as well as childcare options.
Worcestershire Children's Centres also offer a host of fun activities for fathers and their children including Dads Zone, Dads N' Lads, Dads Saturday Groups and First Aid courses.
Natasha Jones, Worcestershire County Council's Project Assistant for the Early Years and Childcare Service and Extended Services, said: "Fathers and families is a great theme for this year's International Day of Families.
"There are lots of services available for Dads in Worcestershire and the activities run at Children's Centres have always been very popular.
"It's great to see more Dads getting involved with their children and asking for advice."
Parents wanting to find out where their nearest Children's Centre is located or those looking for more information and guidance on services can contact the FIS on 01905 790560.
