A MAJOR road in Worcester is set to close for almost two weeks for roadworks.

CityFibre will be carrying out ducting work on Newtown Road starting tomorrow (Monday).

The road will be closed between Sheriff Street and Shrub Hill Road until Friday, March 24.

Drivers are being told to divert via Tolladine Road though the footpath will remain open.

There will be no emergency access to the road possible due to nature of the works.

CityFibre is investing £21m to bring better digital connectivity to Worcester.
