A GIANT wellington boot is on show outside a popular county retailer promoting the Royal Horticultural Society's Malvern Spring Festival.

Until Monday, April 3, the enormous boot will be at Holloway's, the living, dining, and garden furniture retailer in Suckley, following a month-long stint in Gloucestershire.

The huge wellington boot is decorated with the blue and orange livery of the 2023 RHS Malvern Spring Festival.

Kate Dufton, RHS Show Lead, said: "Here at RHS Malvern Spring Festival we are exceptionally pleased to be partnering with Holloways, as the first stop on the Worcestershire 'leg' of the 2023 Giant Welly Tour.

“At 10ft tall and 100 kilos in weight it's a whopper."

After its time outside of Holloways, the boot will be moving to Crowngate Shopping Centre in Worcester, following spells in Cheltenham at Regent Arcade and John Lewis.

The popular gardening event takes place at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern from Thursday, May 11 to Sunday, May 14.

Diana Holloway, owner of Holloways, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be part of the RHS Giant Welly Tour.

“It’s a real talking point in our courtyard, a huge pop of colour amongst all of our terracotta pots and planters, and our customers are loving it.

“Cars are stopping in their tracks when they drive through our gates, and we’ve spotted a few selfies being taken."

To celebrate the wellington boot's arrival, Holloways have launched a special menu in its farm-to-fork Glasshouse café – including a vegetable Wellington.

The retailer is also running a social media competition to win VIP passes to the first day of the show, including front-row seats to see TV gardener Frances Tophill.

The RHS Malvern Spring Festival features show gardens from some of the UK’s leading garden designers, a food section, family events and talks from TV personalities including Alan Titchmarsh, BBC Gardeners’ World presenter Arit Andersen, Masterchef presenter Gregg Wallace and Jay Blades from BBC’s The Repair Shop.
