GRAVES which were closed to the public in a Worcestershire churchyard are now fully accessible to mourners again.

Several graves at St Peter de Witton's Church in Droitwich had been closed off due to safety fears about overhanging branches.

A tree survey of the area had revealed branches above the graves needed to be treated, and there were fears they could fall on people's heads.

Red and white tape had been stretched across the bottom end of the graveyard to prevent public access.

A spokesperson for the church said the work had been done at churchyards across the town which needed urgent care.
