AN OFF duty police officer rushed to help after seeing two cars crash on a busy roundabout between Worcester and Malvern.

The crash caused delays and a large police presence at Powick roundabout yesterday evening (Monday, July 24).

West Mercia Police was alerted to the crash after an off-duty police officer had stopped to help with the incident.

A section of the roundabout was closed while officers dealt with the incident.

An eyewitness at the scene said there was also a police car parked by the bypass.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We received a call around 5pm from an off-duty police officer who had stopped to help a collision between two cars.

"Other officers attended to help with the road being closed.

"There were no injuries or damage to report."
