HUNDREDS of scarecrows have invaded a village on the outskirts of the city.
Fernhill Heath Scarecrow Trail is finally back with hay-made creations and scenes popping up across the village.
Families across Worcestershire can now enjoy the free-to-attend event, displaying scenes from Alice in Wonderland and Strictly Come Dancing.
The winner of the scarecrow trail will be announced next week when the chair of Wychavon District Council, Councillor Robert Raphael, votes for his favourite decoration.
This year Cllr Raphael will have the challenge of judging 105 scarecrows.
Councillor Meg Farmer, who organises the event alongside Emma Gannon, said: "I would not want the job of judging the scarecrows this year, not for all the tea in China.
"The chairman of the district will be coming to judge on Wednesday, but how he is going to achieve that, I have no idea.
"Everyone deserves to win as they are all superb."
Tina Rimell has been making scarecrows in the village for the past six years and enjoys how it brings everyone together.
"The trail means community for me," she said.
"Just seeing so many families of all ages, multigenerational, walking and taking photographs. It is just amazing the endless stream it gets. It is amazing to see the number of people. It is just wonderful, and it is a free event."
Using a 'route trail map', residents and visitors can tour the village, looking at the different entries across the half-term period.
The event runs from October 29 to November 5.
Maps can be purchased from the Costcutter Post Office, Dilmore Avenue Stores and the Village Pop-Up Cafe, which will be at 13 Westfield Road.
There is no set price for the maps but the community does ask for a donation.
The event is free to attend.
All money raised will go to replacing the village's metal benches with nicer ones.
