CHRISTMAS walking tours of Malvern will be taking place next month following rave reviews on TripAdvisor.

This year, Malvern Civic Society is offering residents and visitors the opportunity to join a Malvern town walking tour over the festive period.

With an overall five star rating on Trip Advisor, the tours have become a popular attraction for tourists and those living in the town.

The regular season ended in October, but three extra tours have now been scheduled for December:

  1. Thursday, December 28 at 11.30am,
  2. Friday, December 29 at 11.30am
  3. Saturday, December 30 at 11.30am

Nick St George, tour guide for the Malvern Civic Society, said: “We are delighted to be able to present a number of Christmas tours this year.

"After a very successful main season, we are confident that there will be plenty of people at this very special time of the year who would like to join us for a walk, and to hear about our little town with big history."

On the tours, you can expect to hear tales of the famous patients and infamous scandals of the 19th century 'water cure', the ‘boffins’ who played such an important part in World War II, the life and times of Sir Edward Elgar and more.

The tour also references the origins of the ancient priory and the town’s connections with Narnia and The Lord of the Rings.

The tours last approximately 90 minutes and start at the Tourist Information Centre, Lyttelton Well, Church Street, Great Malvern.

Tickets cost £5 each (with children under 14 able to attend for free), and booking is now open via the Tourist Information Centre, by calling: 01684 892289, or by visiting www.ticketsource.co.uk/malvern-civic-society.

Due to the many steep inclines in the towns, the walks are not suitable for those with mobility issues.
