"Our events are always hugely popular in this versatile space.

"Taking place during the city’s busy Victorian Christmas Fayre, our event will allow families a bit of tranquillity away from the main hustle and bustle of the fayre as well as dedicated - and free - activities for children to enjoy."

Bill Simpson, chairman of The Hopmarket Charitable Trust which oversees the site said: "We are delighted to be putting on such a festive extravaganza this Christmas.

"As an independent shopping courtyard in the heart of our community, such events are hugely important to us, bringing residents, visitors and shop tenants together."
