A CANAL footbridge closure which links sections of a busy retail park is closed for essential maintenance work.
Shrub Hill Retail Park, off George Street and Tallow Hill, has had a connecting footbridge closed for the ongoing work.
Fencing has been established around the perimeter of the bridge with work being carried out by Structural Investigation Services Ltd, on behalf of the retail park.
A spokesperson for Shrub Hill Retail Park confirmed that the owner of the estate is carrying out essential maintenance work on the bridge, which includes treatment work and the replacement of its anti-slip coating to make it safe.
The work is expected to be completed on Friday, December 8.
Shrub Hill Retail Park has shops such as Farmfoods, Wickes, Just For Pets, Home Bargains, and a new Starbucks.
