Worcester News readers have been getting in the festive mood, as they revealed their favourite spots for a winter stroll.

With many opinionated responses offered to the question "Where's the best winter stroll spot in Worcester?", readers shared their preferred routes for a brisk walk in the cold months.

A popular choice among the comments was a riverside walk.

Peter Howard wrote: "Circular Riverside walk between Diglis to Sabrina walk/cycle bridges," before adding: "In late 2024 an add-on will be available by the opening of the new Keepax bridge beyond the racecourse next to Gheluvelt Park."

Jacquie Swinbourne concurred: "Start at Ghevuvelt Park, follow river through Pitchcroft and over Sabrina bridge. Continue along river path to Diglis bridge and come back along riverside to either the Cathedral or the Quay."

Nickkie Horton wrote: "Loop around the river" before stopping for "a coffee and a doughnut at Guilt Trip".

The footpaths drawing a soft line around Warndon Villages won favour with Pat Mills, while Jamie Baker enjoys a route from Porters Mill up towards Claines and Hawford.

Readers weren't without a sense of humour, with Johnny Corbett simply commenting: "From my house to the pub", with another echoing: "From your seat, to the bar, then back to your seat".

But then, let's not leave out the park walks.

Sara Lou enjoys the Countryside Park with its cafe and woods, and also commended Bevere Parks for its wintry charm.

Rachel Price suggested the comfort of Perdiswell Park for a brisk walk.

Alan Mansell echoed this sentiment while recommending a walk along the canal towpath from Perdiswell Sports Centre to Diglis Basin, before ending at GoodRoots for a wholesome meal.
