PROTESTERS have been waving Palestinian flags and making speeches in Worcester.
The latest in a series of peaceful demonstrations was taking place near the Guildhall in the city centre this afternoon (Saturday, December 9).
People waved Palestinian flags and made speeches calling for an end to the conflict in Gaza and Israel, and played songs calling for a free Palestine.
A couple of West Mercia Police officers were in attendance but the protest was peaceful.
Also on Saturday, thousands of pro-Palestine protesters marched from Bank to Parliament Square in London, calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
The march began at Bank Junction at midday and finished in Westminster, following a route that took it past St Paul’s Cathedral and Somerset House.
People on the march held signs with the words “Free Palestine” and “End the siege.”
