UPDATE: Herefordshire Council approved the demolition plan on March 20.
More details have emerged of plans to replace Hereford FC’s Blackfriars End stand.
Herefordshire Council, which owns the ground, has made a planning application to itself (number 240412) for confirmation it can proceed with the long-awaited demolition of the stand, at the southern end of the ground, currently closed to fans.
Also slated to go are the entrance stalls, a groundsman store, ground toilets, the “United in the Community” building, which “are not safe to use and beyond economical repair”, the council’s application says.
The “redundant” former public toilets on the southeast corner of the site, more recently home to refurbishment firm Bolts of Hereford, will also be knocked down.

Accompanying plans show all that will remain at the Blackfriars End are the brick boundary wall and access gates off Blackfriars Street and Edgar Street, and the two floodlighting towers.
According to the application, the work will be carried out between June 3 and August 30. A temporary hoarding will separate the works site from the rest of the ground.
Comments on the council's planning application can be made until March 19.
The council has an open tender for contractors to carry out the demolition work. It plans to build student flats along with a new stand on the site.
