A MOTOR racing team that has relocated to a Worcestershire factory has unveiled its new livery ahead of the 2024 British Touring Car Championship.

ExcelR8 Motorsport, originally based in Suffolk, has relocated to Droitwich after striking a partnership with multiple touring car champions Team Dynamics.

The Droitwich state-of-the-art factory has been home to the Team Dynamics outfit for more than 30 years and is located on the Berry Hill Industrial Estate.

The move to the Droitwich facility is the first phase of a new wider collaboration between both teams.

ExcelR8 is run by founder Justina Williams - who holds the acclaim of being the only female team principal in the BTCC series.

"This is a very exciting time in the development of the EXCELR8 team," she said.

"We have been evaluating a change of location to improve our logistics and fit in with our team for a couple of years but had struggled to find a suitable location.

"When I started to speak to Matt Neal [Team Dynamics Motorsport managing director] about the Team Dynamics facility in Droitwich, it became clear that the move could offer far more than just a base for our operation, and could instead be the start of a new partnership."

ExcelR8 first competed in the BTCC in 2019 and won the championship for the first time in just its forth year in 2022.

The team held a launch event at the Caffeine and Machine building in Warwickshire on March 15 to unveil its new car for 2024, which features a special livery to celebrate title sponsor Bristol Street Motors' 100th anniversary.

Bristol Street Motors opened up its first dealership in Birmingham back in 1924, which is still open to this day.

The team's driver line-up consists of 2022 BTCC champion Tom Ingram, Tom Chilton and Ronan Pearson.

“A good-looking car tends to be a fast car - and we have a good-looking car," said Mr Ingram.

"I think we are in good shape and testing has gone well so far, so I feel confident about our chances of a strong season."

Mr Chilton, who debuted in the BTCC in 2002, said: “The partnership between EXCELR8 and Team Dynamics means we have a fantastic blend of youth and experience on the engineering team – which is something no-one else on the grid have.

"I firmly feel it puts Team Bristol Street Motors in a fantastic position going into the season and having now taken the wraps off the livery, it’s full focus on Donnington Park and starting the year strongly.”

The 2024 BTCC season starts at Donnington Park on April 27-28 running through to the final round at Brands Hatch on October 5-6.
