I AM an enthusiastic cyclist so allow me to criticise the council’s intention to remove the PSPO (Public Space Protection Order) from Worcester High Street.

We have cyclists in the city who stick to the rules of the road and we have a significant number of cyclists who don’t.

The removal of the PSPO sends the completely-wrong message to the latter which I’m afraid will only embolden the cyclists who don’t obey the rules.

Importantly, it will put off many people visiting the High Street which undermines the whole concept of a traffic-free pedestrianised area.
