PLANS for a new restaurant and cafe have been revealed for the city centre.

A restaurant and cafe could open in the former Monkhouse Schoolwear Specialist store on New Street, which was also known as Schooltogs Schoolwear.

A planning application submitted to Worcester City Council revealed that the eatery would be called H&H10.

There will also be a covered eating terrace for diners.

On the application, a spokesperson for the business said: "We feel that the proposal brings new life to an empty building in the city centre and has no detrimental impact on the building or the surrounding conservation.

"Careful consideration of the site's constraints and contextual surroundings have been taken into account to ensure the proposal is sustainable and therefore feel this application should be supported."

Monkhouse took over from Schooltogs at the New Street location four years ago, selling branded school uniforms, school equipment, and Scout and Guide uniforms.

It then closed its doors at New Street in 2023 and moved into the former Roman store on Pump Street.

At the time of the move, Lisa Southall, area operations manager, said: "Where we are heading to is just a fantastic location for us and all of our colleagues are looking forward to the move.

"Originally, we were looking at moving locations last year but the timing was not right for us.

"We let all of our schools in the area know in plenty of time and the new store will be having a total refit.

"It is all very exciting and we cannot wait to move."
