THE alleged victim in an attack outside a city pub is still in hospital more than a week later and two suspects remain on bail in connection with the assault.

A man was left with serious head injuries following the attack outside the Blackpole Inn in Blackpole in Worcester.

The latest update, provided by West Mercia Police today (Monday), is that the injured man remains in hospital and the two men arrested in connection with the alleged assault remain on bail. 

We have previously reported how 'several lines of enquiry' are now being investigated following an alleged attack which left a man in his 30s seriously injured.

He is still seriously injured but now in a stable condition.

A man in his 30s suffered a head wound and was taken to hospital following the assault, which happened in the car park outside the Blackpole Inn, in Worcester,  between midnight and 1am on Sunday.

Two men, aged 20 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of GBH and are helping police with their enquiries.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said in a previous statement: "The two people arrested have been released on bail. 

"An extensive investigation continues and the witness appeal we released over the weekend is still live."

Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses following the attack.

DI Mark Walters of the Major Investigation Unit said: “We would like to appeal for any witnesses to this incident to come forward and help our investigation.

“We understand there was a charity event on at the Blackpole Inn so anticipate there will be people who may have seen the assault and can assist.

“Anyone with information should call 101 and give the log number 27i of March 31.
