A man has been arrested in Worcester following community concerns over suspected drug dealing in the city centre after detectives took apart a toilet to stop drugs being lost.

A 34-year-old is currently in custody at Worcester Police Station on suspicion of possession of class A drugs and shoplifting after officers from Proactive CID swooped on an address in Back Lane South.

A 'significant' quantity of class A drugs and drugs paraphernalia were found there, together with suspected stolen retail items during the arrest this morning (Tuesday).

DI Dave Knight of Proactive CID said: "Two detectives from the County Line drug team and the South Worcestershire burglary team are credited with recovering the drugs from the suspect's toilet. They were able to take the toilet system apart to ensure no drugs were lost."
