OVER half of the shops tested in Droitwich sold products to underaged teenagers.

Two West Mercia cadets pretended to buy over 18 products in stores across the town to see if they could purchase the items.

Droitwich SNT found five out of nine stores tested would have sold the items to underaged people.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "In partnership with Trading Standards, local SNT and two West Mercia cadets carried out some test purchasing at local shops this evening.

"Sadly, five out of nine shops sold products to underage people.

"Those who failed the test purchasing were given advice and will be dealt with accordingly.

"There will also be further test purchasing in the future."
